Adding Photos To Your Post
IMAGE UPLOADS…
Often people will attempt to upload images directly from their camera. Their camera settings are often too large and this system will not accept large sized images.
An image depending on the settings can be as high as several megabytes in size and we simply cannot afford to waste such big disk space on a single picture… all pictures should be optimized to a 72dpi setting at 500 pixels wide for optimum viewing.
So make sure your images are no larger than 500 pixels in width otherwise you will not get them posted.
You can use your free photo image editor on your pc computer, It’s called “Paint”
You can usually find your “Paint” program by:
- click start
- click accessories
- click paint ( program will open )
- click file
- click open (select the image from your computer, chances are the image will be quite large)
- click edit
- click “select all”
- now grab the corner of the image and you will see your “Cursor” change to a <—-> type arrow, then just hold down the mouse and drag to resize the image
- click attributes (be sure to put the image back to the upper left corner of the screen)
- select “Default” button
- save image and your ready to upload
If you have actual photos prints, then you can scan them to post them, but again when scanning be sure to set the settings at 72dpi and 500 pixels in width maximum… don’t worry about the height.
This is a pain in the butt program but it does work… If you already have a resize feature in the camera, that would be best to use if you know how. If you already know how to use say.. adobe photoshop or corel thats even better..
Good Luck…
